From June 15-18 the Foundation visited Basel on the occasion of the ArtBasel Fair. They also attended the satellite fairs Liste, Solo Projects, Volta, Scope and Hot Art Fair.

The engraving will be personally led by the artist-engraver Joan Barbarà, with the assistance of his son, the engraver Virgili Barbarà.

Coinciding with the first public days of the exhibition Animated Sketchbooks, the artist Maureen Selwood has created an original work, in situ, expressly for the exhibition.

The exhibition Chroniques Photographiques closed its doors on October 15th. It was co-produced by the Fundació Vall Palou, the Musée d'Art Moderne de St. Étienne-Métropole and the Institut d'Art Contemporain de Vielleurbanne, and has achieved critical acclaim and a remarkable number of visitors.

Invited by the Région Rhône-Alpes, on September 14-16, the Fundació Vallpalou attended the professional meetings at Biennale d'Art Contemporain de Lyon and took active part in the workshop on cultural partnerships within the frame of Europe's Four Motors and of the Alpes-Mediterranean Region.

On 6 February the public signing of the delivery of Composició en fusta N. 205 (Paisatge) [Composition on wood N. 205 (Landscape)] - a work by Vallpalou which is owned by the Foundation, took place at the Faculty of Education Science of the University of Lleida. In November 2008 the Foundation travelled to Shanghai at the time of the Biennale to set up contacts with artists, institutions, galleries and other agents in the world of Chinese contemporary art with the aim of acquiring works, setting up exchange exhibitions and organising activities both in the Chinese capital and in the Foundation centre in Lleida.
