Participation of Maureen Selwood in the exhibition Animated Sketchbooks
Coinciding with the first public days of the exhibition Animated Sketchbooks, the artist Maureen Selwood has created an original work, in situ, expressly for the exhibition.
Born in Dublin (Ireland) in 1946, Selwood began to work on animated films after having graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts in New York. Her animations can sometimes be found as parts of installations and performances. Maureen creates fantastic universes that are a mirror to the workings of the mind. Her work has received numerous awards and grants such as the Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, the American Institute Filmmaker Grant and the Roma Prize.
