YESTERDAY, TODAY, TOMORROW
Born in Lleida, Vall Palou attended college between his hometown, where studied Fine Arts, and Zaragoza . Attracted from an early young age for the arts, the nineties will be years of experimentation with all sorts of artistic basis, apart from the traditional canvas or wood, as ever known . Its entry in the art of engraving will suppose a new experimentation with textures, stain and colour, as well as the consolidation of a career full of exhibitions, presently more than 40, which have led to expose art works in national and international spaces .
Historically this artist has felt close with the plastic adventure . During its training employed different techniques, but it was with oil painting which was found more confortable to establish its own language full of chromatic artifice and multiple material textures. Even so, the research concern, not only for a scientific training, but as a vital necessity, has led to understanding and incorporating new materials such as ceramics, wood or glass, with guidance from a single purpose : to bring painting as a space in which to express his own feelings in the most direct and honest as possible.
UNION WITH THE WORK . The result of this search path was first exposed in 1995 . Showed a work that was beginning to be established, which did not need any preambles or justifications, especially when abstract assimilation is so digested that no longer need for explanations of the method, but rather of discourse
And this is what makes Vall Palou over all its work: to develop painting of informalists roots, of stain, of losing fears over the canvas, with direct line, free from visceral and figurative connotation to reach the state in which is possible to represent the subject without form and getting as Vall Palou says that ” painting and painter are, even more, the same thing ” .
THE WAY OF PROPERTY . Since its not a representational painter, its work is the expression of the procedure. Vall Palou accumulates pigments and textures in the canvas until find out what are looking for . In this way, the painting takes a path of property, from a birth almost intuitive, provokes in the viewer the need to blend intellect and sensitivity if it wants to understand a space that, and here is the paradox, is defined by the work even being undefined physically.
In his upcoming exhibition at the College of Spain, – Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris, during the months of February and March, or in the Blaquerna Cultural Center of Madrid, next July, August and September, all will have the opportunity to observe a poetic discurse, explained through an emotional perception of reality. In a colour drip free of concepts, matter appears, remember the encounter between artist and work at a particular time in a while, whether or not an invention, is the protagonist.
