​Throughout his prolific career Vicenç Altaió has promoted the recognition of our avant-garde poets through exhibitions, publications and tributes, as a generational duty with the parents of Catalan artistic modernity: J.V. Foix, Josep Palau and Fabre, Joan Perucho, Joan Brossa...

Now it is up to his contemporaries to recognize and celebrate his contribution in the twinning of poetry and the visual arts, following the tradition that these poets have given us, or artists such as Joan Miró, Salvador Dalí and Antoni Tàpies. In spite of having dedicated a good part of his work to preface, write or promote artists, he has been in the bibliophile where he has developed a project that this exhibition certifies. The purpose of this publication is to give an account of the limited edition books that this dealer of ideas has carried out with the artists that I appreciate and value.

It is entitled "The Fertile Eyes" as a tribute to Paul Éluard, figure that played a similar role to his many years before, and in another context. He went to Dadaism and Surrealism what Vicenç Altaió has meant and means by the Catalan artists of the change of Century. The poet, at last, is a mediator who incites with words and ideas.

​Along with the books and the editions executed by the Altaió, the exhibition will be complemented with some works of art, witnesses of these relationships: John Cage, Meret Oppenheim, Antoni Tàpies, Jordi Colomer, etc.

In turn, the exhibition "Vall Palou, artist's books with poets" will be completed, which includes the artist's books with the poets Vicenç Altaió, Josep M. Sala-Valldaura, Víctor Sunyol, Jaume Pont, Àngels Moreno, Joan Brossa, Felicia Fuster, Màrius Torres, Guillem Viladot and Carles Duarte.
