​A few words from Josep Miquel Garcia about the exhibition:

It was the year 2003 when Vall Palou projected the first of his artist's books, on the occasion of the exhibition at the Public Library of Lleida and published with the Guillem Viladot Foundation. It gathered a set of poems by the writer of Agramunt and five etchings.
 
In 2016, the artist made Suitcase num. 1, an artist's book that won the third prize in the 1st International Artist Book Contest in Homage to Joan Brossa, within the framework of the II International Poetry Days: Archives, Poetics and Receptions, organized jointly by the Joan Brossa Foundation and the Poció research group. Poetry and Education of the University of Barcelona, and was exhibited at the Arts Santa Mònica of Barcelona, from October 26 to 30, 2016. Also, in relation to Brossa, David Jou edited, with his etchings and a sonnet of the poet.
 
In 2015, the Vallpalou Foundation started a project of individual exhibitions of Vall Palou that were accompanied by an artist's book made with a Catalan poet. The first of all - started two years before - was precisely Sobreamor, with Vicenç Altaió, in the context of the Genesis exhibition.
 
Then appeared Paret amb esquerdes, from Vall Palou with Josep Maria Sala-Valldaura; Blanc: ser o no ser, of Vall Palou and Víctor Sunyol; La Festa de l'Intocable, by Àngeles Moreno and Vall Palou, and Fata Regina, jointly between Vall Palou and Jaume Pont. From the copper of the book, another book has also been made.
 
In commemoration of the presentation of the Mig segle de poesia catalana. From May 68 to 2018, the Vallpalou Foundation of Lleida made another artist's book jointly produced by Vall Palou, Josep Maria Sala-Valldaura and Vicenç Altaió, and at the end of 2018 L'or i la nit, by Vall Palou, was published, with Carles Duarte Montserrat. Of this work, there is also the book of coppers. To these projects, we must add the last, with poems by Felícia Fuster.
 
All these books have the characteristic that, of the edition, only two copies are made: one for the poet and the other for the Foundation.
 
Sobreamor, by Vicenç Altaió, opens the series. It’s a book of a considerable format, printed with woodcuts of an intense red. The poems "A la madrassa", "Regla de tres", "Sota a polygonal star", "Al riad Bel Haj", "Ablucions al hammam" and "Al suck d'Eurika". The cover, with hard covers, bears the name of the poet with large letters that welcome, in the center, the title of the poems. Woodcuts with margin to blood occupy all the leaves and are abstract organic compositions, black and red, and the poems are printed on a polyester paper and bound between the red of the tinted sheets.
 
Altaió joined the Vallpalou Foundation and is the vice president, and approached the work of the painter to poetry as an extension of its possibilities.
