Art and Territory (Contemporary) + Seminar The seminar Art and territory (contemporary) + aims to update and share the perspectives of artistic practice in different parts of Catalonia where there are centres and municipalities active in contemporary art, as well as to discuss their strengths and weaknesses. An attempt has been made since the 1980s to articulate a network of contemporary art in the Catalan territory, which has survived naturally with a great deal of precariousness since its beginnings. The implementation of the network of art centres has generated environments of perception and quality interrelation and has partly alleviated the shortcomings, but perhaps not enough for the needs of the country. |

SEMINAR 'So far, so close. At the crossroads of the 80s and 90s' Several experts in the field of visual arts will talk about the hopeful decades of the 80s and 90s, before the rampant digital age stormed in to erase memory. A few years after the departure of the dictatorship in Spain, at the end of the 1980s the world was totally transformed. In Catalonia, the art of the 80s and 90s experienced the euphoria of after the dictatorship, with the emergence of brilliant creative minds and a resurgence of painting, sculpture, the continuity of conceptual art and with brilliant initiatives to import artists international, before the creation of the great museums and facilities that saw the light of day in the 90s. We want to reflect on these decades and the art and artists of that time, to compare it with the current situation of art in our country. More information |

CONFERENCE 'The number of gold in art and nature' by Artur Aguilar The painter Artur Aguilar finds Euclidean geometry in nature, in the balance that exists in it from the golden section. But this is not a static fact in nature, but also a dynamic one, as is the movement of a falcon that flies downwards, drawing a logarithmic spiral. He has put the pictorial space at the service of the mathematical rules that govern nature and of the golden section or golden number that the Renaissance linked to the idea of perfect proportion and beauty. It combines the constructive spirit of space with the optical vibration of color that gives warmth and emotion to these modular and minimalist series. |
