VALL PALOU, AGAIN
I know that she will not agree with some of the things I’m going to say . But I have explained many times that these lines have no other purpose than to communicate, who has the patience of reading, the impressions of an idle stroller who stops at some works of art that the artist has produced for its own satisfaction, but also to treat to communicate with others. For them to draw conclusions that seem .
And today, this stroller in front of the works exposed by Teresa Vall on the Collage Gallery finds in it shape and background variations that think may be noted .
The artist, who has always stood for the generous use of colour, has titled his show now with the brief name, Blanc.
And, yes, white is the protagonist of this new collection .
That white, though that is a result of the work of a person accustomed to the rigorous treatment of colour and who knows how to give to these canvas special expressiveness, enhanced by a few simple dark lines that give order and meaning to the whole work.
Overall, therefore, there is an unexpected colour and aesthetic uniformity that differentiate it from its previous manifestations.
But I think also, and here are our possible dissent – that there is a new background that seems indisputable. Vall Palou in its latest works undertakes perhaps unknowingly, perhaps unwittingly a steady march toward figuration, hinted in the past but even newer now .
The artist, probably even in a subconscious way, outlined, as we said, some agile drawings, that viewers, inevitably, suggest allusions to old ships, to small birds, ultimately the real world .
And when in this exhibition breaks its commitment to white with three small canvases, these works seem undoubtedly landscapes.
Perhaps dream landscapes, but landscapes.
They are, then, a serial of works that make us dream somehow realities and also speak to us of intuition and the tastefully of the direction of the gallery at choosing their partner.
