Roberta Vivoli
Being As
From July 15 to August 15, 2010
Exhibition of 64 original photographs and a video of Roberta Vivoli (Miami, USA, 1969). This is the most comprehensive retrospective of the work of this Italian artist organized so far.
For years, Roberta Vivoli experimented with a variety of tèniques with the dual aim of achieving a connection between painting and photography and reflect the nature of the photographic medium. Its not a general search but an attempt to widen the boundaries of photography. Her work tests the limits of the medium in search of expressing what ineffable. So, as a critical analysis of reality or an existential logic, his work has nothing to do with “being” but to “be like.” His favorite themes revolve around the perception of otherness and sites as well as the metamorphosis and their interactions. Opening: Thursday, July 15 at 20pm. |
