For the first time we add from Vallpalou Foundation, the World Theater Day, the performance of the play “The Zoo Story” by Edward Albee, produced and represents the private foundation Marguerida of Montferrato
AUTHOR Edward Albee. Playwright born in Washington, capital (1928). His most important works are focused on family relationships. As a child he was adopted by an executive of North American drama, owner of a chain of theaters .The his early works signify a mastery of the theater of the absurd, that the writers represented in Europe. Jean Genet, Samuel Beckett and Ionesco Eugéne. Albee, in his works, makes a poignant mix of drama and dialogue, to reinvent the American theater of the war. |
His literary career began with poetry and the novel but was soon recognized as one of the most important playwrights of his time.
His first play, “Zoo Story” (1958), was released in Germany .It work simple and enigmatic, is the great difficulty of communication between human beings, but at no time tries to moralize .L’obra more important and well-known “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf? “(1962). Other significant works include: “The American Dream” (1961), “The Ballad of the Sad Coffee” (1958), “Tiny Alice” (1964), “A Delicate Balance” (1966), “Man of three arms” (1983).
In 1994 he received the Pulitzer Prize for drama for the play “Three tall women” (1991).

The history of the zoo reflects the desire for freedom and authenticity, but it marks the way to go, but the reasons for this desire: the tormented life and existence Jerry Gray and Peter unemotional.
